New Haven Counts
New Haven Counts was founded on the idea that all youth deserve access to critical thinking skills, financial literacy, and math numeracy. We match students with high school, university, and community mentors to prepare them for the demands of college, career, and life.
OUR MISSION: TO SHARE THE POWER AND JOY OF LEARNING.
We believe education around financial literacy is a necessity for all students and families. New Haven Counts partners with caring businesses and community organizations to plan, create and fund transformative life experiences for young people to save, study, and score their way to success in college, career, and life. Simply put, we show students the math in everything.
We believe that talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not. New Haven Counts works at multiple levels to create a more inclusive and vibrant educational ecosystem. We support individual schools in building programs and systems that support students to achieve in the classroom and on the field. We strategically use funding to invest money into youth who win competitions and engage in academic and extra-curricular work. This not only shows them that hard work is rewarded monetarily but also allows us to introduce them to financial literacy curriculum and activities through the Goal Setter application. We encourage families to save together.
