Food Bank of the Rockies

Food Bank of the Rockies provides food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and 800+ Hunger Relief Partners. Serving almost half of Colorado and all of Wyoming, they cover the largest service area of any food bank in the contiguous U.S.

THE MISSION: To ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger.

Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest hunger-relief organization in the Rocky Mountain region. That makes them uniquely suited to answer the enormous challenge of hunger. Since 1978, Food Bank of the Rockies has put the power of community to work for neighbors in need. Through partnerships. Through programs. Through people. Through you.

THE PROGRAMS:

MOBILE PANTRIES

Need isn’t always conveniently located, which is why Food Bank of the Rockies deploy 70+ mobile pantries throughout Colorado and Wyoming. Each year, their Mobile Pantry Program provides millions of pounds of food to under-supported areas.

FOOD FOR KIDS

They provide fresh, nutritious foods to children through various after-school and summer programs, weekend backpack programs, and other efforts aimed at giving growing minds and bodies what they need to succeed.

CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE FOOD INITIATIVE (CRFI)

The Culturally Responsive Food Initiative aims to overcome barriers of access experienced by people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Through the program, Food Bank of the Rockies strives to equitably source and distribute as many culturally responsive foods to as many people as possible.

FRESH PROGRAM

The FRESH Program distributes high-quality produce to Hunger Relief Partners at no cost every month. By supplying partners with free fruits and vegetables, Food Bank of the Rockies can ensure every individual in their service area can access nutritious produce.

FOOD RESCUE

The Food Rescue Program involves Food Bank of the Rockies working in tandem with their Hunger Relief Partners and retail partners to accomplish the goal of reducing food waste while providing clients with nutrient-rich food items.

EVERYDAY EATS

Everyday Eats provides 35 pounds of nutritious food each month to income-qualifying adults at least 60 years of age. The program is administered at the federal level by the Food and Nutrition Service and is available at no cost to qualifying residents.
