Heart & Purpose
Heart & Purpose (H&P) empowers youth and families from economically disadvantaged communities by providing support through life-skill education and financial assistance.
THE MISSION:
To transform the lives and paths of low-income youths through education and financial aid
Heart & Purpose is a local nonprofit organization committed to uplifting economically disadvantaged youth and families, guiding them towards a brighter future. Their primary focus is providing educational programs and financial support to young individuals in both Lower Fairfield County and in Haiti. Their array of initiatives includes the annual Back-2 School event, equipping more than 300 youth with backpacks filled with essential school supplies.
In collaboration with the Ferguson Library, the R.O.C (Reaching our Communities) Summer Youth Enrichment Program imparts crucial life skills such as mental health and financial literacy to local youth. Other community assistance initiatives have extended support to over 1000 families, offering toys and hot meals during holiday community events.
SCHOLARSHIP:
Heart & Purpose supports scholarship and mentorship programs that cater to post-secondary students, offering financial assistance and mentorship throughout their first year of college, locally and internationally. They have granted over 60 full-ride scholarships to students in Haiti since the onset of the pandemic and provided $7,000 in scholarships to first-year students from Fairfield County.
